In a since-deleted Twitter exchange, Utah State Representative David Lifferth labeled the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People racist because it works to advance only a subset of the population.
“Any group that tries to advance specific people based [on] their race is by definition racist,” he tweeted. “Today we need associations that advance all people regardless of skin color.”
