The majority of Greater Cleveland’s residents are Black or Latino, and University Hospitals is committed to addressing the health disparities that touch its patients.
CEO Thomas F. Zenty III leads the system’s senior-level diversity council, which meets quarterly. The hospital’s chief diversity officer reports to Zenty and communicates with him weekly.
To grow talent from within, the Bridge to Your Future Work Force program trains entry-level employees for college by honing math and English skills and providing healthcare career advice. To date, 85 program employees have enrolled in college, and 28 have new jobs at University Hospitals.
