Recently, Savoy Magazine announced the recipients of its 2022 Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America honor. James Waters, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of KeyCorp and Jeffery J. Weaver, Executive Vice President and Director of Qualitative Risk Assessment, KeyCorp were both included on the 2022 list. This recognition is the definitive listing of African American executives, influencers and achievers impacting corporate America.

According to a press release issued by Savoy Magazine, the selection of the “Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America” begins by examining the landscape of spheres of influence impacting Savoy’s readership including: corporate sector influence, scholastic achievement, career growth, community outreach and recognition. The information received from over 500 prospective candidates in diverse fields was pre-screened by the selection committee.

In this issue, we assembled an elite representation of African American men and women who have been recognized for their executive and business leadership in national and global-leading corporations,” said L.P. Green, II, Publisher of Savoy magazine. “These innovative trailblazers have led efforts to foster growth for some of the country’s highest-performing companies throughout and beyond the US market.”
James Waters, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, and Jeffery Weaver, Executive Vice President and Chief Qualitative Risk Officer, have much in common despite differences in their backgrounds. James has more than 20 years of experience in corporate law with a focus on finance. Jeffery, a seasoned risk management practitioner, focuses on risk assessments by using qualitative processes and emerging risks. Both are savvy, seasoned leaders in their respective roles. They support the arts, including the San Antonio Symphony and the Cleveland Orchestra. They are also Ivy-League educated. As two of Key’s most senior and influential Black leaders, their advice for up-and-coming Black leaders epitomizes them both: fair, analytical, inspirational, grateful and hopeful.
