The president of the United States has again taken to Twitter to try and demean anyone who disagrees with his policies and practices. This time, his target was NBA superstar LeBron James, who recently addressed Trump’s influence on sports.
CNN’s Don Lemon sat down with James for an interview, which aired on Monday. James spoke of sports as something that unites people, and added that Trump was “using sports to kinda divide us.”
Trump repeatedly criticizes the NFL, in particular, for not punishing the predominantly Black players who kneel during the national anthem in a form of protest against police brutality, even referring to them as “sons of b**ches.”

“Sports has never been something that divides people,” James said during the interview. “It’s always been something that brings [people] together.”
Late Friday night, Trump sent a tweet in an attempt to belittle James and Lemon:
Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!

Social media users gave swift responses to Trump’s tweet. Even former CIA Director John O. Brennan chimed in.
Brennan said Trump is no role model and spews lies”:
What responsible & right-thinking adult can point to
@realDonaldTrump as a role model for our youth Whenever he spews lies, insults, and polarizing hate speech against fellow Americans, think of its harmful impact on our young people and the way they talk, act, & treat others. https://t.co/S8sPpydvt9

Twitter users also pointed out that Trump insulted James’ intelligence, but made no mention of the fact that the athlete and philanthropist just opened an I PROMISE school in Akron, Ohio, to help students who have been failed by Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.
The school, which is a joint effort of the LeBron James Family Foundation and Akron Public Schools, will benefit at-risk children. James donated $8 million of his own money.
This week LeBron opened a school for hundreds of at-risk kids while Donald Trump’s education secretary attempts to undo college loan forgiveness for students who were knowingly deceived” by their schools and rolls back Obama-era guidelines on discrimination in schools.

LeBron James has done more to help children get an education than your entire administration.

Donald Trump is a terrible person who was born on third base but thinks he hit a triple.
LeBron James is a self-made legend and an even better human being.
Of course the President is jealous of the King.

James, who is now officially a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, hasn’t responded to Trump on Twitter.
