Trump Continues to Disparage Women and Mocks #MeToo

At his Great Falls, Mont., rally yesterday, President Trump doled out insults to Rep. Maxine Waters, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Hillary Clinton and survivors of sexual harassment and assault — as if he didn’t care that his “grab ’em by the p***y” comments and assaults weren’t part a catalyst for the movement.

Waters has been repeatedly verbally attacked by the president (“low IQ”) and threatened. Trump accuses Clinton of getting “special treatment” and refers to Warren as “Pocahontas.” He also said he would throw an ancestry DNA kit at her, but gently because it’s now the #MeToo era and “we have to be gentle.”

Warren clapped back on Twitter suggesting he stay focused on fixing the lives of immigrant families that he is destroying.

But it’s campaign season, and he seems to be riling up his base with the hate-filled tactics that resulted in him winning the White House in 2016. Last week it was talk of immigrants infesting America; this week, it’s women being accused of being sensitive about sexual assault. And those attending the rally responded with laughter to the #MeToo comments.

Trump still has over 20 women who are waiting for justice regarding their claims of sexual assault by him.

During the rally, he also announced he hired former Fox executive Bill Shine who mishandled sexual harassment scandals and was fired for it. And he later defended Jim Jordan, a Republican congressman accused of willfully ignoring evidence of the sexual abuse of wrestlers he coached at Ohio State University, saying: “I believe Jim Jordan 100 percent. He’s an outstanding man.”

One of “good men” wronged, Dr. Ronnie Jackson, who Trump wanted for head of the VA but was denied because of hostile work environment and ethics complaints by Sen. Jon Tester, fueled him to bash Tester at the rally. “Jon Tester,” Trump stated, “said things that were horrible and that weren’t true.”

And then he proceeded to discuss some of his own “facts” about what is making him successful, like his crowd sizes and his victory margin in the electoral college.

In his constant campaigning since becoming the 45th president, his support and hiring of administration members with abuse, harassment or assault skeletons has been constant. And he has tweeted statements that urge people to ignore them and preserve the careers of those accused of misconduct.
