We challenge what’s possible and recognize D+I as an essential component of every team member experience. Foundational to all that we do is the Toyota philosophy of respect for people as we work to make the workplace, marketplace, society and the world a better place. Opening access to opportunity includes support for workforce development, education investments and community partnerships.

In a year in which Toyota met or exceeded many of its D+I goals, the signature achievement for the company was launching Driving Possibilities, a $110-million education and community-focused initiative announced in 2022. Inspired by the broader mission to create limitless possibilities for all, Driving Possibilities was introduced through its pilot program in the North Texas community of West Dallas, where Toyota has spent nearly a decade building relationships with local schools, nonprofits and community members.

Toyota partnered with the Dallas Independent School District (ISD), Southern Methodist University (SMU) and nonprofits and the local community to create the West Dallas STEM School. In addition, Toyota is collaborating with local nonprofit Brother Bill’s Helping Hand to improve food access for students, their families and neighbors. The 826 Dallas Project and the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) are working with Toyota to expand writing and literacy programs in West Dallas. Toyota also partnered with Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) to begin operating a free ride-share program for West Dallas residents.
