Toyota Motor North America has a top-down commitment to its diversity and inclusion goals. CEO Jim Lentz serves as co-chair of the company's Executive Diversity & Inclusion Council (EDIC), the governing body for the "Going Places Together" D&I; Strategy. The EDIC, composed of senior level executives from all sides of the company, provides strategic guidance and serves as the accountability arm for D&I.; And Chris Reynolds, the company's newly appointed chief diversity officer, presents to the Board of Directors on an annual basis.
Toyota has also made strides when it comes to talent acquisition. Additionally, all of Toyota's executive leaders have received an unconscious bias training, and the training is also required for all managers who interview job candidates.
