TIAA, a leading financial services firm, has teamed up with the Blacks In Technology Foundation (BIT) to increase equity in technology.

“TIAA is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion within our workforce and communities,” said Tieisha Smith, TIAA Head of Technology Partnerships, Acceleration and Culture Transformation. “Strategic partnerships are key to building a diverse workforce and developing innovative problem solvers. We’re excited to work with up-and-coming technologists from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.”

Blacks In Technology is a global platform for black women and men in technology that aims to “stomp the divide” by establishing standards for world-class technical excellence. The organization serves members through community, media and mentorship. TIAA will collaborate with Blacks In Technology throughout 2022 and 2023 on a number of initiatives including the upcoming Blacks In Technology conference where TIAA will conduct a workshop on emerging technology to retire inequality.

“Having TIAA as a global corporate sponsor not only helps the individuals pursuing a career in tech, but the entire African diaspora,” said Dennis Schultz, Executive Director of the Blacks In Technology Foundation.

As part of the collaboration, TIAA will help provide resources, guidance and challenge members to establish new standards of innovation.
