TIAA moves up six spots on the Top 50 list this year. One of the company's strong focuses is on its employee resource groups. TIAA offers eight groups for its employees to join, and the groups are open for all employees: women; LGBT; African American and Caribbean; Asian American; active military, veterans and their families; Latino and Hispanic; young professionals; and employees with disabilities or care for someone who does.
The company's disability ERG is its newest addition, added in 2015, and has received widely positive responses from employees. Employees describe the company as not only having ethical behavior toward its customer base but also on an internal level toward its employees.
