TFS Named #1 Most Community-Minded Company in the Financial Sector for The Civic 50

PRESS RELEASE

Since 2012, Points of Light Foundation has honored the 50 most community-minded companies in the nation. And for the second consecutive year, Toyota Financial Services (TFS) received this distinguished award, ranking #1 in the financial sector.

TFS builds its community involvement “making life easier” (MLE) programs in the sweet spot where community needs intersect with business goals. Because its business success is dependent on a healthy economy and sound credit decisions by consumers, it has developed a Financial Empowerment Initiative that drives upward mobility.

All TFS offices participate and support TFS’ national initiatives and partnerships, including financial education and youth development. Through mentorship, volunteerism, life skills, educational programs, scholarships and internships, TFS prepares underserved children, teens, and young adults for higher education, ensuring they are financially capable and improving their workforce readiness so they can make a difference in their local communities.

TFS’ unwavering commitment to “making life easier” in thecommunities where its team members live and work is at the forefront of its community engagement programs. TFS invests in its team members and enables them to dedicate company time to teach and mentor underserved youth. In turn, TFS team members become more successful and engaged in their jobs. In particular, the Community Ambassador differential investment program empowers team members to build strategic partnerships with local non-profits in their community and engage TFS team members to participate in community activities, ultimately guiding and shaping a culture of service in the organization. More than 400 team members serve as mentors, with over 70 team members in leadership roles, serving on non-profit boards and participating in TFS’ Community Ambassador and Team IMPACT programs.

Only 50 companiesacross the country receive The Civic 50 award annually and TFS successfully illustrated how it uses its competencies and resources to drive community engagement while playing an active role in civic responsibility and leadership.
