Brittney Ready and her wife Stacey wanted to enroll their youngest daughter Callie in the daycare program of Parkview Christian Academy of Waco, Texas, hoping that she would receive the same religious views at school as she did at home.
But that’s not what happened.
In a public Facebook post, Brittney explained that the school called she and her partner in when they had an opening for Callie.
“Parkview Christian Academy denied an innocent child today due to the choices of her parents. We had Callie on the waiting list for their daycare. We received a call they had an opening this morning, with excitement we went in this afternoon ready to see the place and get her started. The director was super sweet and welcoming to us and Callie!”
“We go to leave with paperwork in hand only for the administrator to call us into his office to let us know that he heard that Stacey and I our “mates” (first off we aren’t animals) and because of that they cannot welcome her (Callie). That “byLaws are byLaws” and their Christian based faith that they would not be able to accept our child.”

“So does that mean “unwed parents” can not enroll their kids? Does that mean “divorced parents” cannot enroll their children there? Because sin is sin and Jesus sat and welcomed allllll the sinners. We were not trying to plague your daycare sir, WE ARE GAY, our daughter IS NOT! Never in my life have I had this happen and it especially affect our child. Our child born in a catholic hospital, at the hands of a Christian doctor, our innocent child of God. I am glad God was on our side and let the true colors show before my baby was subjected to their “discriminating beliefs” Maybe y’all should post that you don’t accept children of same sex marriage and let your directors know so they as well know to ask the questions up front.”
The head pastor of Parkview Christian Academy and the Texas daycare hasn’t replied to any media requests but the comment thread on Brittney’s Facebook shows that dozens of people have had issues with the institution and the church in the past.
