TD Bank Earns 100 percent on LGBT Workplace Equality Index

TD Bank (No. 39 on the Fair360, formerly DiversityInc Top 50 Companies list), America’s Most Convenient Bank, and TD Securities U.S, both received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. TD Bank and TD Securities join the ranks of 517 major U.S. businesses which also earned top marks this year.

“At TD Bank, we believe that fostering a diverse and inclusive culture that celebrates different viewpoints sends a powerful message and encourages change, said Robert Pompey, Head of Commercial Credit Management Administration and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Allies (LGBTA) Subcommittee Chair. “We are proud to earn this prestigious recognition once again, as it celebrates our culture and empowers our people to thrive.”

The 2017 CEI rated 1,043 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. TD Bank and TD Securities efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria resulted in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.

“We are honored to be acknowledged for our support of the LGBT community,” said Paul Beltrame, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Diversity, TD Securities U.S. “We work hard to build an inclusive environment and a culture of acceptance, so we are extremely grateful that we are being recognized for our efforts.”
