What: The Renew Our Rivers Lake Mitchell (Coosa River) cleanup is Saturday, March 21. Volunteers should report at 8 a.m. to the Higgins Ferry boat launch for a safety briefing. The cleanup will end at 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch for volunteers.
Overview: Volunteers for Renew Our Rivers, one of the Southeast’s largest river cleanup campaigns, have collected almost 16 million pounds of trash and debris since the program’s inception in 2000.

Directions: From Interstate 65, travel to exit 208. Take County Road 28 east to Lake Mitchell Road until it dead-ends at Higgins Ferry boat launch.
