Sodexo’s Gerri Mason Hall Takes on the Role of Chief Diversity, Inclusion and Social Responsibility Officer

In 2019, in addition to her role as the Chief Human Resources Officer, SVP, Human Resources, Sodexo’s Gerri Mason Hall took on the role of the Chief Diversity, Inclusion and Social Responsibility Officer. In this role, she is leading the Better Tomorrow Plan in the Americas. The Better Tomorrow Plan began in 2017, intending to keep the company on track on its journey toward being a responsible company in the areas of the individual, the community and the environment.

Prior to becoming the CDO, Mason Hall was the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of North America, where she led over 160,000 employees. Sodexo aims to be a company leader in quality of life services, and Mason Hall’s career has demonstrated her dedication to championing the quality of life of Sodexo’s employees and the communities they work they have business operations.

Before her time at Sodexo, Mason Hall worked as the chief diversity officer for Amtrack, where she helped settle a class-action lawsuit by leading increased representation of Black employees in leadership roles.

As part of her community advocacy, Mason Hall is on the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Board and sits on its Audit Committee. She’s also a member of Sodexo’s Stop Hunger Foundation and is the Chair of the Board. Sodexo’s foundation is part of a worldwide network of organizations working to end childhood hunger. In other work against hunger, Mason Hall sits on the Board of the Congressional Hunger Center.

Last year, she was named one of Savoy Magazine’s 2019 Most Influential Women in Corporate America. She is a graduate of Vassar College and the George Washington University National Law Center and grew up in Washington, D.C.
