Ryan Kocher Named President for Cigna’s Business in Pacific Northwest Markets

Cigna has named Ryan Kocher as president for its health care and related benefits plans in the Pacific Northwest market, which includes the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. He will be based in Seattle.

Kocher joined Cigna in 2003 and most recently was the chief operating officer for the company’s MidSouth market, which comprises Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky and Mississippi. Prior to that he held a series of increasingly responsible positions in sales, account management and underwriting throughout Cigna’s Southeast region.

In his new position, Kocher’s responsibilities now include driving market growth by creating customer value and ensuring that the local market strategy, product and network offerings meet evolving customer and client needs. He will also collaborate with area health care professionals and health systems to help improve the health of Cigna’s Pacific Northwest customers, and he will lead Cigna’s community engagement programs.

Kocher graduated summa cum laude from the University of Richmond and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with concentrations in economics and management systems. He is also a 2017 Fellow of the Nashville Health Care Council and is active in his community as an adviser to start-up companies and board member of nonprofit organizations.
