Racist School Bus Driver John Naisbitt Drives with Biracial Teen Trapped Between Doors in Utah

Racist school bus driver, John Naisbitt, trapped a mixed-race seventh-grader between the bus doors and proceeded to drive 175 feet before freeing the boy.

The egregious incident was caught on video and it showed the 14-year-old boy’s backpack getting caught in the doors of the bus, then Naisbitt dragging him as he drove away. The boy’s mother, Brenda Mayes, is now suing the Davis School District located in Utah because she believes the driver intentionally dragged her child because he’s biracial.

When the bus pulled into the West Point Junior High School’s driveway shortly before 8 am, the biracial boy was seen following his classmates off of the vehicle. However, as the student approaches the last step, John Naisbitt placed his hand on the lever to close the door, which caused the door to shut, leaving the middle schooler dangling outside the bus dangerously close to the front right tire, according to KUTV-TV.

In October 2018, Mayes claimed that he closed the doors on a neighbor’s child doing the same thing to her neighbor’s younger son. Her lawsuit also claims that parents made numerous complaints against Naisbitt after he allegedly belittled children on the bus, refused to take them to their assigned bus stops and called them names.

Brenda Mayes filed a complaint on behalf of her son against, John Naisbitt, but says nothing was done when she informed school officials about the incident. She alleged the transportation director, Dave Roberts, was dismissive of her complaints.

“I couldn`t even comprehend how it could happen,” said Mayes, “I was glad he didn’t kill him. I was glad he didn’t go under the wheel.”

The suit stated that Naisbitt had a history of misconduct against minority children dating back to 2017. He retired three days after the incident to prevent his termination.

“Something failed,” Mayes said. “They have a responsibility, when I put my kids, send them off to school, they have a responsibility to make sure they are safe.”

Naisbitt countered the suit by claiming that eight buses were lined up behind him when he warned the students he was moving forward. He also stated that the mom was retaliating because her son had been disciplined previously.

When asked was he a racist, Naisbitt responded saying: “Not at all. No. Look at my dog. He’s as black as could be.”

Davis School District stated that they were investigating the situation and released a statement.

“The Davis School District takes any claims of racial discrimination seriously and does not tolerate any form of racial discrimination in our schools.”

The lawsuit is asking for unspecified damages.
