R. Kelly’s Own Daughter Calls Him A ‘Monster’

Singer Buku Abi, real name Joann Kelly, posted on Instagram saying she was “devastated” by the recent accusations in the documentary “Surviving R. Kelly.”

The 20-year-old said she hasn’t seen or spoken to him in years, calling him a “terrible” father.

“My mother, siblings, and I would never condone, support, or be a part of ANYTHING negative he has done or continues to do in his life,” she said.

Andrea Lee, Kelly’s ex-wife and Joann’s mother, spoke about the physical and emotional abuse she suffered at the hands of her then-husband in the documentary. Lee was married to Kelly from 1996-2009 and divorced him after a trial against him for child pornography.

Kelly’s sons, Robert Kelly Jr., 17 and Jay, 19, who is transgender, also do not speak to him. Jay has said in the past that his father never accepted him as transgender, while Lee gave her full support. Jay, back in 2014, said, he was “kind of” scared to tell his father and that their relationship was “really complicated.”

Buku said it took her three days to write her statement.

“The same monster you are all confronting me about is my father. I am well aware of who and what he is. I grew up in that house.

“My choice to not speak on him and what he does is for my peace of mind. My emotional state. And for my healing.”

Buku said to her 23,600 Instagram followers that she prayed for all the women that say they have been affected by her father’s alleged actions.

Lee posted on Instagram, along side a Psychology Today screenshot of education and support for abuse victims: “I AM No longer afraid. No longer willing to silence my PAIN AND SUGARCOAT THE ABUSE I ENDURED because of how my abuser and his LEGAL TEAM were THREATENING to come against me if I “didn’t choose wisely.”

“From covering bruises and saying you “bumped into the counter” to telling his co-workers he a wonderful provider and a “good man” to avoid a beating for saying the opposite….I was you!”

Kelly, who attempted to defend himself on social media with a now defunct Facebook page called “Surviving Lies,” reportedly was experiencing panic attacks prior to the airing of the documentary, and has been monitored by many medical professionals after.

He was, however, spotted at a party this week, where he grabbed the microphone and said: “I don’t give a f**k about what’s going on!!”
