People on the Move: Ann Seeney, New Chief People & Diversity Officer for US Soccer

U.S. Soccer has announced that Ann Seeney will serve as Chief People & Diversity Officer, effective March 21. She will oversee all HR programs in functions in her new role, which includes overseeing employment practices as well as diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) initiatives.

U.S. Soccer CEO Will Wilson said in a statement that the organization is excited to have Seeney on board as it continues to “build human resources capabilities” while focusing on its people and DEIB.

“She brings a wealth of experience and expertise that make her uniquely qualified to help us further support our staff, increase our efforts and ensure we are reaching our goals to make DEIB part of our DNA at all levels of the game,” Wilson added.

Seeney has 20 years of HR experience and most recently served as VP of Human Resources for the St. Louis Cardinals. She joined the Cardinals in 2013 as Director of Human Resources before being promoted to her role as Vice President in 2019.

Seeney said she’s honored to be named Chief People & Diversity Officer of U.S. Soccer.

“I look forward to building upon the great work the team has already accomplished, being a resource for our staff and ensuring we continue our efforts in weaving DEIB into the fabric of the Federation,” she said. “Soccer is one of the fastest-growing sports in the U.S. and I am thrilled to be a part of this journey.”
