Marriott International continues to closely monitor Hurricane Matthew

Marriott International, Inc. (No. 9 on the DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list) continues to closely monitor Hurricane Matthew and have begun taking the appropriate precautions at hotels that may be affected by the storm.


We have well established hurricane plans and our hotel teams are well-versed in implementing these plans.  In addition, we are in close contact with local authorities and, as always, will take guidance and direction from them if the situation warrants it. The safety and security of our guests and employees is always a top priority at Marriott. Cancellation fees are being waived until Tuesday, October 4, 2016 for anyone holding reservations at the Courtyard Kingston, Jamaica or the Marriott Port-au-Prince Hotel, Haiti.

For information regarding hotel reservations, please call (800) 228-9290.  Those in countries outside of the United States seeking information about the impact of the storm should call the Marriott International toll-free number in their country.

The relaunch follows the recent announcement detailing the company's ambitious growth plans for the Middle East and Africa region where it will expand its current portfolio by 50%, and as a result add 30,000 jobs.
