In his State of the Union address on Tuesday night, President Obama optimistically praised the nation for its uphill climb during his Presidency and proclaimed that our country: is creating more jobs; has the best economy since 1999; has an unemployment rate that is the lowest its been since before the economic crisis; has more students enrolled in school than ever before; and has more people covered by health insurance than ever before.
Obama did acknowledge that there is still much work to be done and said he has made it his mission to make things better for the working middle class—focusing on women, veterans, and low-income families and students during his address.
