GM Company Store Opens in the Renaissance Center

The GM Company Store officially opened at the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit.

The GM Company Store (General Motors is No. 48 on the DiversityInc Top 50 Companies list) officially opened November 17 at the company's global headquarters at the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit.


The new store is part of a larger renovation project that includes significant updates to the public spaces in the Renaissance Center. In addition to the store, GM will add an immersive experience with interactive exhibits that will highlight innovation, technology and design across the company's global brands.

"We are excited to be able to bring the stories of our brands and our company to life by elevating the experience in our world headquarters for our employees and the public," said Tim Mahoney, chief marketing officer of Global Chevrolet and leader of GM Global Marketing Operations. "The new GM Company Store allows us to offer merchandise from each of our U.S. brands celebrating our most iconic nameplates."

The GM Company Store offers branded merchandise representing Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac and is located on Level 1 in the GM Wintergarden. It will be open from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. during the week and occasionally on the weekend. GM employees will be eligible for a 10 percent discount when they show their company ID.

General Motors Co. and Honda announced an agreement for new advanced chemistry battery components, including the cell and module, to accelerate both companies' plans for all-electric vehicles.
