EY (No. 1 on the Fair360, formerly DiversityInc Top 50 Companies list) is kicked off the New Year by tabulating the votes for one of Hollywood’s most prestigious award shows: the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s 75th annual Golden Globe Awards.
The show was telecasted live on NBC Sunday, Jan. 7, 5 p.m. PST/8 p.m. EST from The Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills, Calif. Seth Meyers, host of “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” was the emcee.
For the 45th consecutive year, EY managed the voting process for the awards, which honors the best in TV and film. Two EY professionals personally carried the results down the red carpet in briefcases handcuffed to their wrists.EY began working with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association on the 1973 Golden Globe Awards.
EY oversees the entire balloting process including:
- Confirming and qualifying all voter credentials to certify that they meet the current standards of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association
- Overseeing the entire ballot gathering and tabulation process for both the nominations and final voting
- Triple-checking the results to eliminate any margin of error
- Assembling and maintaining exclusive control over winners’ envelopes until moments before each celebrity presenter appears onstage
