BREAKING REPORT: No Crime in Tamir Rice Shooting According to Sheriff's Investigation


Seven months after 12-year-old Tamir Rice was shot by police while he played with a toy gun outside the Cudell Recreation Center, newsnet5 out of Cleveland is reporting that a source familiar with the investigation states that the Cuyahoga Sheriff’s Department has found no evidence of a crime. The findings have been turned over to the Cuyahoga Prosecutor’s office.

The long ordeal, which began with a Cleveland Police Department investigation, ended today shortly after major developments in the city of Cleveland, where Officer Michael Brelo was acquitted in the shooting deaths of an unarmed Black couple, and a settlement was reached by the city with the Justice Department over past police brutality cases.
