Former Atlanta Falcon, Justin Crawford, was busted raping a 12-year-old girl and has been arrested on felony charges of sodomy, incest and enticing a minor for an indecent purpose.
Crawford, 23, was caught by his wife, Chakeya Crawford, standing over the young girl while he had an erection at about 5 a.m. on Saturday in the living room of the couple’s Columbus home according to the the Ledger-Enquirer. She, in turn, told the little girl’s mother and the police were called.
Crawford first denied the sexual assault, then later said it was the girl’s idea.
Detective Mark Scruggs testified during a preliminary hearing recounting what Crawford’s wife said she saw him doing. She had, initially, gone back to bed but an attack of her conscience, eventually, lead her to come disclose what she discovered.
The girl told her mother she was asleep in Crawford’s living room when the former star running back at West Virginia University came into the room and told her to perform oral sex on him before they had sex.
A sexual assault kit was later administered to the girl to preserve any DNA evidence, Scruggs said.
A judge found probable cause to send Crawford’s case to Muscogee Superior Court and ordered him to be held without bond, according to the newspaper.
Crawford, who is 6-feet and 200 pounds, faces felony charges of incest, sodomy and enticing a child for indecent purpose, jail records show.
