Mastercard has launched a card with Universo Sonae that is aimed at being more inclusive and sustainable.
The card has Mastercard’s Touch Card feature, which has a notch on it for blind and partially sighted cardholders. It also has a tactile varnish over the logo to make it easier to recognize as a Universo card.
The new card is made from recycled plastic and has the universal recycling symbol on it.
The company launched the Touch Card in 2021 to provide the 2.2 billion blind and visually impaired people around the globe with more financial independence. The tactile notches give cardholders the ability to identify which payment card they are using by touching it. A rounded notch for debit, A squared notch for credit and a triangular notch for prepaid.
