Marriott Recognized as One of Fortune’s Most Admired Companies

Marriott International is a Hall of Fame company.

Marriott International has been named one of the World’s Most Admired Companies by Fortune Magazine. This marks the 23rd consecutive year that the company has made the list.

Marriott ranked 16th across all companies and 1st in Hotels, Casinos and Resorts.

Fortune collaborated with Korn Ferry to evaluate the performance and reputations of 645 companies across 27 countries. These companies were chosen from an original pool of 1,500 companies: The 1,000 largest companies in the U.S. ranked by revenue and non-U.S. companies in Fortune’s Global 500 database with a revenue of $10 billion or more.

The 50 All-Stars were determined by 3,760 executives, directors and securities analysts choosing the top 10 companies they admired the most. Leaders in the 52 industries were chosen based on nine criteria: ability to attract and retain talented people; quality of management; social responsibility to the community and the environment; innovativeness; quality of products or services; wise use of corporate assets; financial soundness; long-term investment value; and effectiveness in doing business globally.

“We are honored to be named to this year’s list and proud to represent the best of our industry,” said Anthony Capuano, Chief Executive Officer, Marriott International. “As a company that cares deeply about people, I am proud of our associates around the world who made this recognition possible by living our core values, putting people first and caring for our guests, each other and our communities.”
