We have a shared accountability model that says we are all responsible for making diversity a priorityfrom the top of our organization (our board of directors) to our frontline employees.”
As Chief Talent and Diversity officer, Yrizarry leads Verizon’s global diversity, recruitment, executive development and succession planning. She previously served as the company’s Vice President of Workplace Culture, Diversity and Compliance. Since joining the company in 1990 as Manager of Educational Relations, she has held roles as Executive Director for Public Policy and Strategic Alliances and Director of Operations and National Workforce Development Programs for the Verizon Foundation.
Yrizarry sits on the board of the League of United Latin American Citizens‘ National Education Service Centers, the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility and the ASPIRA Association, which builds capacity for Hispanic youth. She chairs the ASPIRA Association of New York, is a founding member of 100 Hispanic Women and is a graduate of the National Hispana Leadership Institute.
