In Long Beach, Calif., on Tuesday night, another shooting left three men dead and nine people injured at what may have been a Halloween party at a private residence. All nine injured people were taken to hospitals nearby, including two men and seven women with ages between 20 and 49.
The Washington Post reported that the shooting in Long Beach took place at a home behind a nail salon and the first 911 call came in around 10:44 p.m. local time, the Long Beach Fire Department said on Twitter.
“The engine unit and the arriving paramedic unit identified a scene obviously full of chaos,” Jake Heflin, a Long Beach Fire Department spokesperson, said in a video posted to Twitter. “The scene is obviously still under investigation.”

According to the Post, the three men who died were found both inside and outside of the house. There is not yet a motive, police told the Los Angeles Times. The Times reported that law enforcement called it a “mass casualty incident.”
During a Wednesday press conference, law enforcement said they are looking for at least one male suspect who fled from the scene after the shooting.
“Today is a very tragic and horrific day in the city of Long Beach,” Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia said at the press conference. “This was a senseless act of gun violence.”
Nearby residents told the Times that they heard between 10 to 17 shots ring out.
