Following the terrible explosions that plunged Beirut into mourning, Sanofi and the Sanofi Espoir Foundation are rallying round to meet humanitarian needs. With the support of the French Ministry for the Armed Forces and in collaboration with the Crisis and Support Center of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and UNICEF, the Sanofi Espoir Foundation has coordinated the specific donation of Sanofi’s medicines and vaccines for Lebanese patients.
“Deeply moved by the tragedy in Lebanon, Sanofi and its Sanofi Espoir Foundation have made a major donation of medicines and vaccines for patients in Beirut,” said Valérie Faillat, Head of the Sanofi Espoir Foundation. “Due to the intense mobilization of the Sanofi Espoir Foundation and Sanofi’s teams to address this humanitarian emergency, these healthcare products have been delivered in record time.”
In addition to this specific contribution, Sanofi and its Sanofi Espoir Foundation have provided a broader humanitarian response through the Tulipe association, which brings together donations from healthcare companies to meet the emergency needs of populations in distress. Emergency canteens containing kits for Beirut’s health centers amount to nearly two tons of medical products. Part of this delivery will be distributed by the NGO Première Urgence Internationale, which has been active in the country for many years. Overall, this operation will have enabled the transport of nearly four metric tons of medical products to Lebanon.
