In addition to his responsibilities as CEO of Toyota North America, Lentz is President and Chief Operating Officer of Toyota Motor North America and a Senior Managing Officer of parent company Toyota Motor Corporation. He oversees all of Toyota’s North American affiliates, including Toyota Motor North America; Toyota Motor Sales; and Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, North America, which includes responsibilities for Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada and oversight for Toyota Canada.

Prior to his current role, Lentz was President and CEO of Toyota Motor Sales, Senior Vice President of Toyota Motor North America and a Managing Officer for Toyota Motor Corporation.

Lentz has been with Toyota since 1982, moving up from Merchandising Manager to Distribution Manager to Field Operations Manager of the Portland Ore., region. He has also served as General Manager of the San Francisco and of the Los Angeles regions, as Toyota Division Group Vice President and General Manager, and Vice President of Scion.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and economics and an M.B.A., both from the University of Denver. He is chairman of the board of directors of Global Automakers and a member of the Executive Advisory Board of the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
