JCPenney Partners with Salvation Army to Bring Holiday Cheer to DFW Area Children, Seniors

JCPenney (a DiversityInc Noteworthy Company) associates are sharing the holiday spirit this season by giving back to those in need.

Throughout the month of November, JCPenney associates from the Company’s Home Office, headquartered in Plano, Texas, adopted 1,460 angels in partnership with the Dallas-Fort Worth Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. Through this program, anonymous donors adopt “angels” in an expanding Christmas tradition that makes the season brighter for both the gift giver and receiver.

“It’s an honor for JCPenney to support the Angel Tree Program again this year and be a part of the Salvation Army’s efforts in helping countless children and seniors in need celebrate Christmas this season,” said Brynn Evanson, executive vice president of human resources for JCPenney. “Our associates are devoted to giving back to the communities where they live and work, and are eager to provide everyone with the gifts they deserve to have a memorable holiday.”

JCPenney has worked with the Salvation Army over the past 20 years, and is one of the organization’s top corporate donors for its Angel Tree Program. This year, JCPenney associates donated over 8,000 gifts, totaling approximately $100,000 dollars. The Angel Tree Program is one of The Salvation Army’s highest profile Christmas efforts, dating back to 1979, and reaches more than one million children and seniors in need.
