Here’s a little ditty about Jack and Diane: Jack was Black.
In an interview with HuffPost Live, the rocker revealed that the male lead in his 1982 hit “Jack and Diane” was initially supposed to be Black, but that he changed it because his record label wasn’t comfortable with a song starring an interracial couple.
