Specialty Pharmacy Patient Choice Award recognizes patient satisfaction

Humana has received the Specialty Pharmacy Patient Choice Award in the PBM/Payer category for the third year in a row. The award, presented by Zitter Health Insights, a division of MMIT, recognizes the highest quality in customer service and optimal patient care by a specialty pharmacy.

Humana Specialty Pharmacy, a part of Humana Pharmacy, manages therapies for chronic and complex illnesses while integrating pharmacy and medical needs to provide whole person health care for patients. Humana Specialty Pharmacy customers receive both clinical and educational services customized to their individual needs and treatment goals.

“We are honored to receive this national award that highlights our work to deliver personalized care and support to the patients we serve,” said Adam Hanauer, Vice President, Humana Specialty Pharmacy. “The COVID-19 outbreak has reinforced the strength of our integrated care delivery strategy, which at its core is about helping our patients achieve their best health. We are grateful for our incredible leadership team, technicians, pharmacists, nurses, care coordinators, and all the support teams who are deeply committed to putting the patient at the center of everything we do.”

The award reflects Humana’s Human Care approach to making the healthcare experience better, more personal and more caring. Humana Specialty Pharmacy provides a personalized experience throughout treatment, offering access to a disease management team member, clinical nurses and pharmacists who are experts in specialty conditions. Humana Specialty Pharmacy also applies a practical approach to managing side effects and supports patients who apply for patient assistance programs to cover the costs of their specialty drugs.

The criteria for the Specialty Pharmacy Patient Choice award was formulated by a committee of individuals representing pharmaceutical manufacturers, payers, trade organizations, consultants and equity research firms.
