Key to Hilton‘s success has been its ability to identify the right talent to lead resource groups, explains Michael Ford, Vice President, Global Diversity & Inclusion, Hilton Worldwide. During his DiversityInc Innovation Fest! presentation on resource groups, Ford reveals how a 93-year-old company with no resource groups established five, with 20 chapters in four corporate centers, in less than a year (with two more on the way).


“We identified high-performing, high-potential individuals from these different demographic groups who demonstrated leadership and who could step up and, as busy as their schedules are, really take this on,” said, Ford. “Your’re doing this because you have passion; you believe in the mission of the company.”

Hilton’s resource groups enhance the company’s culture, talent and marketplace strategies by allowing employees to feel valued—and bring their whole selves to work, said Ford.
