Hershey Mentors Future CEOs During Women’s History Month

The Hershey Company ranked No. 6 on The Fair360, formerly DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list in 2022.

The Hershey Company gathered young women from around the world in its Future CEO in celebration of Women’s History Month.

The Future CEO mentorship program partners with Girls Up and Girls on the Run to create pathways for women to succeed. According to a report by McKinsey, companies with more than 30% female executives tend to outperform companies that have fewer women in leadership roles. Hershey aims to nurture these numbers.

The virtual program was held on March 7, bringing together 10 women from around the globe to hear from Michele Buck, CEO of The Hershey Company, and other leaders.

The women participated in group discussions and activities on topics such as navigating imposter syndrome and trusting one’s intuition. Through the Future CEOs program, Hershey also learned from these young women on what the next generation of workforce leaders need to succeed.

“Investing in the right programs, initiatives and strategies with inclusivity, equity and diversity are at the center of our business to make a difference and support our long-term business growth,” Buck said. “Women’s History Month marks a deliberate moment in time to harness our year-round commitment to amplifying the powerful voices of women and girls around the world to carve a path for everyone to succeed.”

Hershey is on track to meeting its goals of 50% gender representation across its workforce and 42% of its leadership by 2025, reflecting the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion framework.
