Video: New Mount Sinai Health System Remains Committed to Diversity


As of Oct. 1, Mount Sinai Medical Center and Continuum Health Partners combined into the Mount Sinai Health System, serving an extremely diverse patient population that will have 2.6 million annual outpatient visits and 177,000 annual in-patient admissions.

While the details of the merger remain to be worked out, diversity is likely to be at the top of the agenda given the system’s location: New York City is the second most diverse metro area in the U.S., with a population that is 39 percent white, 28 percent Latino, 19 percent Black and 12 percent Asian.
