Google Apologizes, Fixes Anti-Gay Slurs in Translator

Google has released a formal apology following backlash for a glitch in its Translator tool, which converted the word “gay” into homophobic slurs when translating from English to French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

Andre Banks, Executive Director of All Out, an LGBT advocacy group, first noticed the offensive translations, which included words like f*g, f****t, p**f, queen and fairy, to name a few.
