At Georgia Power, helping the next generation is an important part of the company’s mission in supporting the state’s communities.

The Georgia Power Foundation – the nonprofit arm of the Georgia Power Company – recently provided a $5,000 donation to the Posse Foundation’s NEXT 10,000 Program to help build a diverse leadership network for the country’s future workforce.

Earlier this year, Georgia Power also supported the Posse Foundation with a $10,000 donation to provide opportunities to talented students from diverse backgrounds.

For more than 30 years, Posse has identified and trained young people with extraordinary potential who might be missed by elite schools. Their program places students in supportive, multicultural groups of 10 students — “Posses.” With mentoring and full-tuition leadership scholarships from partner colleges, Posse Scholars graduate at a rate of 90 percent. As alumni, they are well prepared and positioned for success.
