General Motor's Chevrolet Presents 50th Anniversary Edition Camaro to World Series MVP Ben Zobrist

The 2016 World Series Most Valuable Player Ben Zobrist was presented with a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro (a brand of General Motors No. 48 on the DiversityInc Top 50 Companies list) SS 50th Anniversary Edition, recognizing his strong performance on the field as the Chicago Cubs won their first World Series since 1908.


A media panel and first-ever online fan vote on MLB.com, the club sites and the MLB.com At Bat app helped determine the MVP Award winner.

Major League Baseball’s 2016 World Series Most Valuable Player and Chicago Cubs’ Outfielder Ben Zobrist is presented with a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS 50th Anniversary Edition in the early hours of Thursday, November 3, 2016.

“In this historic matchup, Zobrist’s performance on the field truly embodies the same ‘Never Give Up’ spirit that drives the Chevrolet team to innovate every day and that has made us the Most Awarded Automotive Brand two years in a row,” said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. “We are proud to recognize the tremendous efforts of Zobrist with the MVP award and the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro 50th Anniversary Edition convertible.”

Chevrolet has been the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball since 2005 and through its Chevrolet Youth Baseball program has helped raise more than $28 million to aid hometown teams over the last 10 years. Nearly 5.2 million young people in communities across the country have benefitted from the program, and more than 1,500 Chevrolet dealers are involved.

Camaro 50th Anniversary Edition

The 50th Anniversary Edition honors the distinctive looks and performance that have always set the Camaro apart. It is offered on 2LT and 2SS coupe and convertible models, all with Nightfall Gray Metallic exteriors featuring a 50th Anniversary stripe package and badges, and a black top on convertibles.

Additional content includes:

– Specific 20-inch 50th Anniversary wheels

– Unique grille with satin chrome accents

– Body-color front splitter

– Orange brake calipers (front only on LT)

– Unique black leather interior with suede inserts and orange accent stitching

– Distinct 50th Anniversary treatments on instrument panel, seatbacks, steering wheel and illuminated sill plates

– 2LT includes RS Appearance Package

The Camaro 2LT comes standard with a 2.0L Turbo engine rated at 275 hp (205 kW) and a 335-hp (250 kW) 3.6L V-6 is available. The Camaro 2SS features the LT1 6.2L V-8, which offers 455 hp (339 kW), making it the most powerful Camaro SS ever. Each engine is available with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
