Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Elizabeth Warren rejected Fox News’ invitation to a town hall on the network because of the station’s “hate-for-profit” model. One of Warren’s aides told CNN that Warren is not planning on appearing on Fox News at all.
Warren tweeted on Tuesday morning:
Here’s one place we can fight back: I won’t ask millions of Democratic primary voters to tune into an outlet that profits from racism and hate in order to see our candidates—especially when Fox will make even more money adding our valuable audience to their ratings numbers.

Democratic candidates for the 2020 presidency are divided over whether or not to appear on Fox News although some of the big names in the race have already participated in one.
Democratic Sens. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota have already done Fox News town halls. South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg and New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand are both planning to appear later this year.
But Warren isn’t having any of it.
“Hate-for-profit works only if there’s profit, so Fox News balances a mix of bigotry, racism, and outright lies with enough legit journalism to make the claim to advertisers that it’s a reputable news outlet. It’s all about dragging in ad money—big ad money,” Warren tweeted.

While some candidates have decided to appear on Fox News, the Democratic National Committee said that it won’t host any debates in partnership with Fox News because of the ties between the station and the current administration recently highlighted by The New Yorker.
In an accusatory article in The New Yorker, Fox News was described as “the closest we’ve come to having state TV,” “a radicalization model” and a “mouthpiece for the president.”
