Dow has continued to accelerate actions and strengthen Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) across the organization.

In 2020, we reinforced the message that “inclusion is not canceled.” Our 10 employee resource groups (ERGs) were the driving force, and as a result, global ERG participation increased by 7%.

Dow demonstrated its care for and commitment to our Black employees and the Black community. We launched Dow ACTs, a holistic framework to address systemic racism and racial inequality in the areas of advocacy, community engagement, and our own talent pipeline. In total, Dow has committed more than $10 million over the next five years to this effort.

Last year also marked the culmination of our global Inclusion 2020 strategy, which delivered meaningful results and visible progress over the last three years, including:

  •   Tripling global ERG participation — 98% of Dow’s people leaders participate in ERGs
  •   Tripling spending with U.S. diverse suppliers and expanding the program to 10 additional countries
  •   Achieving the highest-ever overall employee satisfaction. On average, ERG participants reported 10% higher overall satisfaction than non-ERG participants.
  •   Increasing U.S. minority representation from 21.9% to 25.1%
  •   Improving women’s representation globally from 27.4% to 28.1%
