The Maynard family has made the news and media industries what they are today, in some ways.
Dori J. Maynard, who took over for her father as one of the leading advocates for diversity in newsrooms, has died.
She “advocated tirelessly,” according to a statement from the Robert C. Maynard Institute for Journalism Education, “reminding all that the work of bringing the diverse voices of America into news and public discourse is more vital than ever.”
