Donald Trump is upset that Paula Deen lost her business deals after using the N-word. No, I’m not kidding.
The reality TV star and real-estate mogul appeared on FOX & Friends on the FOX News Channel on Monday, complaining about what he called “a very rough double standard” over the reaction to a Black Congressman’s use of the word “cracker” and Deen’s use of the slur. Trump took exception with U.S. Representative Charlie Rangel’s interview with The Daily Beast, in which Rangel, a New York Democrat, compared the Tea Party with those who fought against the civil-rights movement. “It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police,” Rangel said. “They didn’t care about how they looked. It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused America to say enough is enough.”
Trump said he thinks Rangel should hear his famous “You’re fired!” tagline from The Apprentice. “If Charlie, or if whoever it was, was a Republican and they made that statement, they’d be resigning from office right now,” Trump said. “I see it all the time: If you’re a Republican and you make a statement like that, it’s over. I mean, you are finished. … By the way, the further right you are, the worse it gets. So it’s a very rough—it’s a double standard. It’s a very rough double standard.”
Trump’s comparison for Rangel Paula Deen, whose use of the N-word caused business partners to quickly sever ties. “Paula Deen was absolutely crucified, what they did with her,” Trump said. “I don’t know what even happened to her. I see everybody dropped her. She has really got some problems. It’s amazing.”
Trump, you may remember, called for a march to overthrow President Barack Obama after his reelection last November:

Now, that divided country is just “the way it is, and get used to it,” Trump said. He added that he didn’t think anyone in the Obama administration would censure Rangel: “Obama is going to take a pass, and they’re all going to take a pass, and that’s the way the country is right now.”

Of course, this is the same Donald Trump who led the “birther” movement and insinuated that Black voters only voted for President Obama based on race. But then again, Trump has always had a “great relationship” with “the Blacks.”
