Fair360 Joins Nasdaq, UN Women to ‘Ring the Bell for Gender Equality’

Fair360, formerly DiversityInc joined Nasdaq and UN Women on Thursday for the global kickoff celebration of International Women’s Day at Nasdaq headquarters in New York City.

The event “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality,” included panel discussions and a bell-ringing ceremony to raise awareness of the pivotal role the private sector can play in advancing gender equality — the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal No. 5.

Fair360, formerly DiversityInc CEO Luke Visconti and COO Carolynn L. Johnson were in attendance, along with panelists representing Fair360, formerly DiversityInc Top 50 Companies — Wanda Hope, Chief Diversity Officer at Johnson & Johnson (No. 1) and Alicia Petross, Senior Director Global Culture, Diversity and Inclusion and Engagement at The Hershey Company (No. 33).

Both Johnson & Johnson and The Hershey Company earned a spot on Fair360, formerly DiversityInc’s Top Companies for Executive Women.

Hope said, during the panel session, that innovation for Johnson & Johnson means treating diversity and inclusion “as a business priority integrated into everything we do.”

Petross said The Hershey Company “knows that innovation is born from inclusion, and, in fact, you need inclusion in order for innovation to be relevant.”

She added, “When gender equality and inclusion are prioritized, innovation will thrive.”

The executives also shared career advice on how to succeed and climb the corporate ladder.

“Be purposeful and strategic around your career,” Hope said. “Think long term about what it is you want to do. Work toward something instead of allowing your career to happen to you.”

“Take action, be bold and create the life of your dreams,” Petross said.
