Cox has long been committed to being a force for good in the world. We also have a proud history of partnering with nonprofits that are working to drive positive change in racial equity and inclusion in our company and communities.
Last year, in response to the national outcry over police killings of Black and African Americans, we stepped up that commitment by donating $1 million to help organizations that support racial equity, criminal justice and quality education. We renewed that pledge earlier this year, and this summer added an additional organization to that group.
Our $1 million social justice fund for 2021 will be divided among the following nonprofits that we supported last year, along with an organization dedicated to advocating for the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.
The social justice nonprofit partners are:
- National Center for Civil and Human Rights
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Action
- National Urban League
- Equal Justice Initiative
- Asian Americans Advancing Justice
We know there is more work to do to champion inclusion, both inside and outside of our organization. We will continue to promote open dialogue and awareness.
