Lilly performs better as a company when our diverse culture reflects the people we serve around the world. We will continue to take action to ensure we further an inclusive, thriving environment for our employees and the communities we support.

We foster an environment that encourages our employees to feel welcomed, respected, valued and heard. At Lilly, we aim to embed DEI in all that we do to make life better for our employees, the patients we serve and the communities we live in.
From The Company
Diversity, equity and inclusion are foundational to Lilly’s business of innovation. We believe when we harness a variety of perspectives, it helps us discover and deliver life-changing medicines. Lilly is committed to welcoming, respecting and valuing that which makes each of us unique. In 2021, we improved our talent processes including: • Self-driven career assessment program with broader access to development tools for all employees. • Required training for all new leaders with a focus on behaviors to create inclusion and psychological safety for all. • A new onboarding program with multiple touchpoints during an employee’s first year with the company. • Formal sponsorship program to accelerate career development. Our commitment to workforce diversity remains strong, and we continue to set aspirational goals. We have seen progress for women and minorities in management positions from 2017 to 2021 and we increased representation of women across our workforce globally to 51% during this same period.Lilly’s Racial Justice Commitment is driving change to enable more jobs that sustain families for minorities through our Professional Apprenticeship program launched in 2021 with more than 20 participants thus far, and the Skills First initiative launching in 2022, focused on eliminating the degree requirement for some roles.
