Anchors Rodrigo Arana from Telemundo Chicago, Adriana Delgado from Telemundo 51 Miami, Erik Mora from Telemundo 39 Dallas-Fort Worth, Alejandro Navarro from Telemundo 52 Los Angeles and Ubaldo Martinez from Telemundo Houston will cover all 2018 World Cup moments for Telemundo’s local audiences.
Telemundo Station Group today announced it’s dispatching a team of local station journalists from stations in Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, McAllen and its news bureaus in Washington, D.C. and Miami to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. The station group’s team consists of 12 sports and news anchors, photographers and producers. This is the largest group of Telemundo station journalists to ever report from an international, live sporting event. Telemundo’s local journalists will round out Telemundo Deportes’ coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup by delivering local audiences the most relevant and compelling coverage about all 32 competing teams across the stations’ on-air, digital and mobile platforms. The stations’ mobile apps will also help soccer enthusiasts watch livestreams of the games and receive their World Cup news and sports updates wherever they go.

With special local shows and segments like “Acceso Rusia” (Russia Access), “Hoy En Rusia” (Today in Russia), “Recorriendo Rusia” (Traveling Through Russia) and complimented with distinctive local digital content like interactive games, score cards and the ability to watch live games from Telemundo owned station apps, the Telemundo stations will capture every heart-pumping soccer match for local Latino audiences everywhere.

The station group’s on-air team includes WSNS sports anchor Rodrigo Arana, WSCV news anchor Adriana Delgado, KXTX sports anchor Erik Mora, KVEA sports anchor Alejandro Navarro and KTMD sports anchor Ubaldo Martinez. Beginning June 13, news anchor Adriana Delgado will deliver feature stories focusing on the World Cup and the competing teams to local audiences everywhere. Sports anchors Rodrigo Arana and Alejandro Navarro will deliver live reports from Russia, including up-to-date team scores for Telemundo stations’ early, afternoon and evening newscasts. Sports anchors Erik Mora and Ubaldo Martinez will travel all throughout Russia to capture and personalize every World Cup minute for the stations’ local audiences as the teams face one another to claim the coveted trophy. The station group’s Washington, D.C. and Miami bureau photographers and producers will support the station group’s unprecedented international live event coverage.
As the exclusive Spanish-language home of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Telemundo will provide extensive multimedia coverage including more than 1,500 hours of 2018 World Cup coverage across all platforms for Telemundo Network, Telemundo stations and cable network Universo. Telemundo and its local stations as well as sister cable network Universo will broadcast all 64 games live: 56 games will air on Telemundo and eight will air on Universo. The 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia will take place from June 14 to July 15, 2018.
