Comcast NBCUniversal Celebrates Pride Month

Comcast NBCUniversal is committed to creating a more equitable, just, and inclusive company for our employees, customers, and communities, and Pride Month provides a special opportunity to recognize the remarkable contributions of the LGBTQ community to our company and country.

Xfinity ‘LGBTQ Film & TV’ is a year-round content destination on X1, Flex, and Stream that brings together all the LGBTQ film, TV, music, and streaming content available on each platform hand-curated by Xfinity’s in-house LGBTQ editor into special collections such as LGBTQ Kids and Family, Play with Pride, and Queer Horror. During Pride Month, over 1,000+ LGBTQ titles will be made available free throughout the month from networks and SVODs such as Revry, Dekkoo, Here TV, and SHOWTIME. Additionally, Peacock will feature a number of firsts for LGBTQ programming, many of which will be featured within the ‘LGBTQ Film & TV’ experience, including Drag HealsTranscendentFreeheldGirls5EvaZoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, and more. Xfinity X1 and Flex customers can access this collection by saying “Pride” into the Xfinity Voice Remote.

NBC Out is releasing its annual Pride list on June 1. This year’s list will honor 30 notable LGBTQ firsts — from Ohio’s first lesbian sheriff to the Iditarod’s first transgender dog musher. And throughout NBCUniversal, we are celebrating all of the ways that Pride is Universal, and how our characters and employees make up one dynamic community of diversity and representation.

Telemundo is celebrating Pride with Celebrando el Mes del Orgullo (Celebrating Pride Month), a campaign to support the LGBTQ Latino community, celebrate their journeys, and raise awareness of the challenges that remain for their progress. The campaign will feature stories of inspiring community members making a difference and kick off with a PSA introducing these individuals and the loved ones who supported them along the way. Their stories will be supported with special programming and profiles in daytime and evening news shows with additional segments on topics ranging from the exploration of the intersection of the transgender and Hispanic experience, a panel with experts related to the LGBTQ community, and stories on pride with special guests.

To commemorate Pride Month, Comcast Newsmakers is releasing a series of interviews with leaders and advocates dedicated to advancing LGBTQ communities. Watch as leading LGBTQ voices offer solutions to challenges facing communities across politics, healthcare, technology, and more. Segments will air throughout the month on Xfinity X1, Stream, and Flex, ComcastNewsmakers.com, and social media.

And on June 28, Comcast NBCUniversal’s award-winning Voices of the Civil Rights Movement platform will release a newly re-edited interview with LGBTQ rights pioneer and Comcast NBCUniversal Joint Diversity Advisory Council member Mark Segal, who discusses the influence of the civil rights movement on the journey to LGBTQ equality.

In lieu of in-person Pride Parades, our employees have created a virtual “Pride World,” where we will feature events, Pride floats, Pride flags, and even a Pronoun Guide for employees. Pride World is filled with street signs honoring famous LGBTQ figures throughout history, as well as a movie theater that features programming that highlights and celebrates the LGBTQ community.
