  • Cigna and the Piedmont Clinic to provide coach with the goal of improving health and lowering healthcare costs for the county

Fayette County government employees and their dependents now have free onsite access to a RN Health & Wellness Coach made possible by Cigna and the Piedmont Clinic. The health coach will work collaboratively with county employees, their families, physicians, Cigna and the community to coordinate care, drive better patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs for the county.

Cigna and the Piedmont Clinic have a longstanding relationship through their Cigna Collaborative Care program, which aims to improve patient health, affordability and overall patient experience. The health coach will travel to various Fayette County government offices to provide a wide range of services, including:

  • Educating employees on physical and behavioral health
  • Scheduling preventive screenings (annual physical, mammograms, immunizations, etc.)
  • Working with at-risk employees to help them achieve their health goals
  • Addressing socioeconomic barriers to care, such as transportation, financial and family support
  • Hosting wellness events;

“We’re excited about partnering with Cigna and Piedmont to provide Fayette County employees and their families with better patient outcomes that will help decrease healthcare expenditures while increasing preventive care, screening and early detection,” said Fayette County’s County Administrator Steve Rapson.

“Cigna works with municipalities throughout Georgia to improve whole person health for their employees,” said Bryan Holgerson, Georgia market president for Cigna. “We are proud to partner with Piedmont to provide onsite health coaching to our Fayette County client, who is committed to supporting employee health.”

“Piedmont’s purpose is to make a positive difference in every life we touch and that means both in the hospital and in the community,” said Piedmont Fayette CEO Stephen Porter. “We are there for people when they are sick or injured, but we are also a resource to help them on their wellness journeys as well.”

“Our relationship with Fayette County is an example of our commitment to changing care delivery models – and improving healthcare of the communities we serve,” said Chris Lloyd, Piedmont Clinic President and CEO.
