To better serve its diverse employees, BASF has created employee resource groups, one of which is the African American Employee Group (AAEG), which Nader Mahmoud, Vice President, Business Management Personal Care Chemicals North America, is an Executive Sponsor of.

Mahmoud said the group “continues to advocate for a better, more inclusive workplace, socially responsible business practices, and a corporate culture that embraces and empowers its diverse employees.”

He added that AAEG’s “hope is that once people understand the reality of the Black experience, they will champion policies and programs that levels the playing field.

“It is hard and uncomfortable work on all sides, but well worth it, not just for Black people, but for other marginalized groups as well.”

BASF’s website states that AAEG “encourages management and employees to recognize the value of diversity and create an environment in which all employees are judged on their individual merit and character. Through communication, participation and teamwork, AAEG is working to capitalize on the value of our diverse employee population.”
